27th January 2009

It was the second day of Chinese New Year. We left our house later, because we were only going to my sister's godmother house only. We went there during lunch time. When we reached there, my sister gave her god mother two extremely big mandarin oranges which cost $4.80 each! Imagine how big it is. Our lunch was buffet style, but seriously, I feel that i can cook better. Just joking, but the food seriously was 'yuck', so I only took a little.

After eating only so little, I was famished, so I ate a lot of New Year goodies and chocolates. The whole Ferrero Rocher left 10, I at 7 of them! I also got 5 red packets from the adults. Today I made sure I did not have any lesser than my sister. While I was eating the New Year goodies, my father joined my sister's god mother in playing Mahjong. But, halfway through his game, we had to leave, because we were going to watch movie. I am please to say my father won $8 plus. I am proud to be his son!

After leaving, we went to Marina Square's golden Village to catch a movie. After discussing, we finally decided to watch what my sister wanted " The Wedding Game". The movie was very hilarious, though there was some scenes which were a little "NC 16" and gross. For example, there was a scene where by the male actor was naked (covered his private part though) and the female actress went to hit his ' family jewels'. That must be pain! When the show ended we went home, as my sister and I had school tomorrow. On my way home, I kept thinking about how did the actor acted the scene without feeling pain. I would never want to be in his shoes. Let us hope that he still has Father's Day! Got to go, Chiao!

26th January 2009

Finally, it is Chinese New Year! But I was damn tired because of yesterday's incident. But it is worth it, because Chinese New Year is my favourite festival, because not only we get to receive red packets, we also get to eat New Year goodies like the pineapple tarts, the 'Ba Kwa', cookies and many more. I woke up at nine and set off for visitation at ten. I was one of the latest we set off in my life. Normally, we would wake up at eight, and set off at nine. The first stop we went was my mother's godmother's house.

We usually go to my mother's god mother's (I shall call her grandmother, because I usually calls her that) house first as we would take our breakfast there. My grandmother seriously cooks very well. Every year she will cook 'Shuan Pan Zhi' for my family to eat though it takes a it of effort to do it and this year was no exceptions. I ate two full bowls of it. Talking about 'Shuan Pan Zhi', I am craving for it now!

After that we went to my father's parent's house and my mother's parent's house. Because I was already given red packets before Chinese New Year, hence I just laze around the house watching television and talking to my cousins. After that, at about 3.30pm, my whole family from my father's side went to my grandmother's sister house. When I reached there, people there immediately give me red packets, as though I am a VIP. After getting red packets, I went to the sofa to sit down and ate some New Year goodies. But sitting there feeling bored, I went asleep.

I only woke up when it was time to leave at around 6pm. We bid our host goodbye and left for home. When I reached home, my sister and I counted our red packets and I noticed that I had 2 lesser than my sister! It must be when I was sleeping, she good another 2! I am not going to let this happen again, so I will sleep now, at 8pm, to make sure I stay wide awake so that I will not get lesser red packets than my sister! Got to sleep, bye!

25th January 2009

It was Chinese New Year eve, and also my sister's birthday, but family already told my sister that we are not celebrating her birthday. Instead, we are eating reunion dinner. So, my father gave my sister an expensive watch from "Swatch". It cost $99! I gave my sister a wallet from a shop which Darius introduced me. The wallets there are cheap and good.

In the evening, my family went to my grandparent's house to eat reunion dinner. We ate a lot of 'good food'. Abalone, shark fin, lobster and many more. But compared to last year, I think we had lesser food. Probably it is because of the recession. However, I still get 'Ang Bao' from all my relatives. My family have a tradition of giving red packets before Chinese New Year. Do not ask me why, because I myself also do not know. But who cares? When adults give red packets, I would gladly accept them.

Though my family members are not Buddhists, we also have a tradition of going to the temple to pray after reunion dinner, then we would go back home. After praying to the gods, we went home. When we reached our house at about midnight, we were astonished that our shoe rack and other things that we rarely use outside our house had vanished! My mother immediately went to the guard house to check the CCTV to see if anyone had taken our belongings away. My mother watched the tape of the whole day, but did not see anyone taking away our things. My mother then went to the seventh floor (the highest storey) to check whether did the neighbour on the seventh storey took it.

When she went there, she saw some of our shoes outside the house. My mother immediately called the police, and they arrived in 20 minutes. I did not know why it took the police so long to arrive, when my house is just opposite the Changi Prison. There were three policemen. They took my mother's statement. After taking my mother's statement, they went to the seventh storey and knocked on the door. But, after knocking for 2 minutes, the owner still did not open the door. The security guard, who followed the police, then went down to the intercom to call the unit. At first when the security guard call, the owner did not open the door. But thanks to the security guard's persistence, the owner finally opened the door.

The policemen then questioned the owner why all of my families' shoes were outside her house. The owner then replied saying that she thought for some Chinese, during Chinese New Year they would do some spring cleaning, and would put their unwanted stuff outside, so she thought that we did not want our shoes and other things that we put outside our house so they took it. One policeman then asked my mother if she wanted to take legal action. My mother told the policemen that she did not want to take legal action, and only wanted our belongings back, so the owner returned to us, and we went back to sleep.

I bet the owner is lying, but my mother did not want to pursue the case. If I was her, I would have taken legal actions.

19th January 2009

Today was really quite a funny day. Come to think of it, I am still laughing about it. First of all, I think most of the 2A students already know that we are not in a very good relationship with 2F after the argument between Bharath and another student from 2F, Bob.

Today after my Bahasa Indonesia class, Darius and I walked out of the RSP room and saw Bharath. He was doing his Biology homework, which had to be passed up by 4.15pm. We waited for him to finish his homework then we put our work into the class pigeonhole and went home together.

While waiting for the bus to arrive, we saw Bob and his friends. I think Bob was very pissed with Bharath after the argument, so he wanted to 'take revenge' on Bharath by scaring him, and making Bharath feel irritated. There are few incidents, which was so funny that Darius and I stood at one side and could not stop laughing (we are so bad).

Firstly, he went to Bharath and shouted" Boy! You come here" then he paused a moment to make Bharath feel scared, then he said" Tie your shoelace now." It was true and Bharath 'pai seh". Bharath purposely ignore him and told Darius and I " I will tie my shoelace in the bus, I don't want to show that I 'pai seh'. "

Then, we took the same bus from Victoria School to Bedok interchange, and took the same MRT to Pasir Ris. On the train, Bob saw Bharath having flu, so he took a packet of tissue and went to Bharath " Why you cry until got running nose? Scared of me is it? You need tissue? I have plenty of them here. I give you one packet. Don't use too much, keep some for later." Darius and I tried to control our laughter, but it was uncontrollable. (I know, we are bad again!)

There was also another funny incident, but this time it was not related to Bob. Bharath, Darius and I went to White Sands Shopping Mall to help me choose a present for my sister which was coming. We went to a wallet shop and browsed through the girl's wallet section. I saw one wallet which suits my sister, so I told the saleslady I wanted to buy it. Then, Bharath was there asking " Is the wallet for a female?" I heard the question and I was like "Oh My God". The wallet was pink and white. Did Bharath expect me to use the wallet? Even the saleslady was laughing to herself.

Though I laughed at the incidents that Bob did to Bharath, I was a little guilty of not helping Bharath. I think if the same incident happen again, I will ask Bob to stop it.

Great day!!!

When I first saw my class timetable, I knew I would enjoy Thursday best. Today, 8th of January 2009, did not disappoint me. I had the best day in 2009.

First of all, in school, I do not have Chinese lessons which were so boring! The teacher was so monotonous. Secondly, there was my favourite subject, Math! I love Math. I do not know why, but maybe is because I score good results in Math. I do not know why most students hated Math, but to me it is the easiest subject.

Secondly, I had training after school which was good because I get to relax myself as my hobby is to play soccer. Also, my coach also told me I played well in training, which means i get a chance to get into the team which only have 22 places.

Also, I was my Mother's birthday, so, in the evening after my soccer training which ends about 7, my family went to Jumbo Seafood Restaurant for dinner. We had crabs, cod fish, squid and lobster! The food was delicious, but the bill was extraordinary. I am sure my father now has a 'huge hole' in his pocket!

I hope, everyday would be as good as today, so that I do not have so much stress in school (crossing my fingers).
